US Forces Struck a 'Large Plant' in Venezuela, Trump Asserted Lacking Providing Details.

Ex-President Trump has asserted that American forces struck a "major installation" in Venezuela last week. But, the ex-leader withheld information about the precise purpose or location of the strike, and there has been no additional comment from his camp.

Unspecific Comments Made In a Radio Show

"We just destroyed – I don't know if you saw – they have a big plant, where the vessels originate. Two nights ago, we knocked that out. So we struck them decisively," Trump allegedly said to GOP supporter and supermarket owner John Catsimatidis on Friday.

Possible Significance of a Confirmed Attack

Should a American military action were to be confirmed, it would constitute the initial land strike since the US Department of Defense began a expansion of American strike forces in the Caribbean region to halt narco-trafficking operations that the former administration alleges operate under the orders of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro.

The original mission of the force deployment has transformed into a blockade aimed at hindering the country's oil exports.

Social Media Footage and Official Claims

Trump has for weeks stated that American military units are ready to widen the military campaign by hitting targets inside Venezuela, a tactic that would in theory require congressional approval.

Video footage circulated online on 24 December purportedly showed an explosion said to be from an industrial area in Zulia state. However, the video or the facility has not been confirmed by third parties.

An official from Trump's team reportedly informed a media outlet that the former president was describing a drug facility in his comments.

Response and Current Strategic Posture

The Maduro government has not commented on the incident the former president referenced. Furthermore, there have been no independent reports from Venezuela about it.

The presence of US military in the area – a position certain officials have referred to as a maritime "quarantine" – marks the most expansive naval operation of the Trump era.

Sources have avoided from labeling the operation as a full blockade, but have confirmed that approximately 15,000 personnel are deployed across the Caribbean and the Gulf, including a carrier strike group, F-35 aircraft, and law enforcement vessels to enforce current sanctions.
